Jackson Writing and Research supports diverse clients on a range of writing, research, and fundraising projects. As a small firm, we are flexible and develop customized plans of action to meet specific organizational needs. We have worked with clients ranging from individual authors, to schools and colleges, to regional government agencies, and everything in between. While we do not specialize in any specific sector, areas of particular expertise include education, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and economic development.
About Jennifer Jackson: Jenny is a grant writer, editor, and researcher based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has worked as a consultant on and off since 2010. She also spent over seven years at The Grant Plant, where she supported a diverse roster of clients as a Senior Resource Development Officer. She been consulting via Jackson Writing and Research to allow for more scheduling flexibility while her son is small.
Her work as a grant writer has brought around $60 million in funding to dozens of non-profits, government entities, and educational institutions in New Mexico and nationally, which has benefited thousands of clients. She also supports organizations on funding prospect research, project design and staffing, and other research and editing projects. She has experience supporting the planning efforts of large consortia—navigating the delicate balance of ensuring that all participants’ interests are heard and respected.
Jenny also has taught courses on grant writing, fundraising, and writing best practices. She has a Bachelor’s in English and Art History from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA and Master’s in Latin American Studies, both from UNM. Originally hailing from Michigan, she has lived in Albuquerque since 2005 and thinks New Mexico is a great place to call home!
